Between 27 July and 1 August, the Rákóczi Association planned to host over 400 primary school-age children from Subcarpathia, Transylvania and Vojvodina in its Hungarian mother tongue camp. However, due to the current situation and resulting constraints on international travel, children from outside Hungary were unable to attend the camp.

In the period above, therefore, the Association extended this invitation to primary school pupils from within Hungary. The carefully prepared camp saw children of many different backgrounds arriving from several regions of the country ranging from Sopron to Berettyóújfalu under the auspices of churches, municipalities and the Ministry of Human Capacities’ State Secretariat for Social Inclusion.

Mother Tongue Camp

We are confident that pupils from beyond the border will be able to make up for the missed camps once circumstances permit.
