The general meeting of the Rákóczi Association’s Felvidék partners in the spring season took place on Saturday, 8th March 2020, following the Esterházy Award ceremony in the House of the Hungarians, central Budapest.

Starting from 13:00 p.m., a presentation on the Rákóczi Association’s work plan for the running year, with special regard to the Association’s activity in encouraging Hungarian-language school choice, was delivered by Director responsible for Hungarian school choice programmes László Petrovay. He emphasized that in the future, the Association’s various partners will receive remuneration proportionately to their performance in implementing the various elements of the Hungarian School Choice Programme. This was accepted without opposition by representatives of the partners present. Following this, Chairman of the Rákóczi Association Csongor Csáky thanked those gathered together for their sacrificial work for the persistence of Hungarian communities and extended his greetings to former Hungarian ambassador to Poland Iván Gyurcsík, who was present at the meeting. Rudolf Gabri, chairman of the Rákóczi Network of the Association’s partners in Slovakia, added that he and Mr. Petrovay are initiating personal visits to all Felvidék regional partners to enhance the efficiency of joint work. Closing remarks were delivered by Chairman Csongor Csáky as the approximately hour-long meeting came to a close.

The meeting saw the participation of sixteen regional partners of the Rákóczi Association, representing Hungarian-populated areas of southern Slovakia.
